Hello Denise, my name is James Hassen. I worked for Ray as a young engineer in 1967 through 1971. Ray was a great mentor to me. He left many positive impressions on me to this very day.
I hope you remember me. We had dinner together with Ray and your two daughters and my wife, once in my apartment in Brooklyn and once again at your house in West Caldwell. I still remember your clam dip and of course Ray's strong martinis.
Additionally, Still remember Ray running out of the office when it rained to deal with a overflowing pond and overrunning septic tank. At the time, I thought it was funny.
Many times Ray would pop into my mind over the years and now I am sorry I never made contact. He helped and guided me to become an accomplished engineer. I have not talked or seen Ray in over 40 years but he had left a very positive imprint on me to this day which is testimony to his strength of character. To that degree he lives on.
Some of the other contributors to this site I also remember, Charles Gruber and Chuck Pansarasa. Both people that also bring back fond memories.
My condolences,
James Hassen

Dear Denise and Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Ray. I worked with him for several years at ITT Microelectronics, under John Marley. Ray was the big man with the red hair and
Mid-Western accent. Ray was Mr. Digital, I was Mr. Analog.
Ray was such a pleasure to work with. Positive "can do" attitude, competent,---.
needed for department's state-of-art work, as with NASA.
We all accomplished much, and with Ray's great sense of humor we enjoyed it all.
I was pleased to know Ray.
Sincerely, Jim Morgan

Hello Denise, We are so very sorry for your loss. Unfortunately we were unaware of the memorial service until today. If there is anything we can do for you please do not hesitate to call. Ray was a great guy, both at work and socially. We really enjoyed our bridge dates with you both.

Denise, Leslie, Ed, Natalie, John, Andrew, Jamie, and the rest of the family, so sorry to hear about Ray. We have VERY fond memories of hanging out with Ray at your Bradenton house. We distinctly remember two things - cocktail hour and the way Ed and we would shout out "Ray!" to signify that we so enjoyed his charming company. Denise, you both always opened your home there so graciously and kindly, which we and our kids so appreciated and enjoyed. Good times.
Our prayers are with you.
