Obituary of Mary Florence Scriffignano

Mary F. Scriffignano (Esposito), Loving Mother, Trusted Mentor, 92, of North Caldwell NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2015. Visitation will be held at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave., Caldwell, NJ 07006 on Wed., July 29 from 7 – 9 pm and Thur., July 30 from 9 – 10:30am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame R.C. Church, 359 Central Ave., North Caldwell, NJ on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11:00am. Born in Queens, NY, Mrs. Scriffignano lived in Newark, NJ and then Caldwell before moving to North Caldwell in 1963. Prior to moving to New Jersey, she worked for Viewlex Inc. during a historic period of war and post-war efforts. Later, she worked for the Newark City Hall as a stenographer and subsequently for the Human Resource Department of the Essex County Jail Annex in North Caldwell. Among many recognitions for service excellence, she received the Honorary Silver Life Award from the Policemen's Benevolent Association, Local 157. She considered mentoring and helping others as the highest responsibility in all of her work endeavors. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel; a sister, Sadie Young and brothers, Vincent, Joseph, Constantino "Gus" and Carmine "Thomas" Esposito. Surviving are her devoted sons, Joseph, Anthony and his wife, Rosanne; a loving sister, Anne Pavlovic, beloved sister-in-law Pauline Scriffignano and many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Essex PBA Local 81, The Red Cross or the ASPCA would be appreciated.
