Obituary of Joanna M. Mead

Teacher and Presbyterian Joanna M. Mead, of Whiting, NJ, formerly of Caldwell, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. She was 97 years old. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 12:00pm in the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell, 326 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006. The interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Montclair, NJ. Arrangements in care of the Codey & Jones Funeral Home of Caldwell. She graduated from Kean University in Union and was a first grade teacher at Washington School in West Caldwell, NJ for many years. She was an active member, Sunday School Teacher and elder of the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell. Time spent with her family at the shore in Avalon and Stone Harbor were some of her happiest memories. She was predeceased by her parents and recently her dear brother, Edward Dodd Mead, Jr. Surviving are her devoted nephew, Edward III and nieces, Sandra M. Markwood and Barbara M. Wheeler, also great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the American Diabetes Association would be apprectiated.
