Chi Chi:
I am sorry that I am so dilatory in writing this note but I just found out
today that you had gone on to your eternal reward, I still remember the
first day I ever met you. You were hanging out of a window speaking to
someone standing on your sidewalk. You were so giggly and full of life
that morning. We did have a few laughs that morning so you invited me
into your home upstairs. When I met your mother, I was shocked to see
that you looked exactly like her. There was no way that either of you could
deny that you two were not related.
We did get along so very well in the days of our youth. You were so very
helpful in your suggestions as to how I should proceed in my personal life.
You were insistent that I should go to school and get a good education for
myself. You were always that way as I recall and that included everything
that we did together as a group even with the rest of the people in our little
gang. All of us usually relied on you to make a decision as to what we
should do at anytime we all got together. All of your ideas were very useful
and satisfying like when we would go swimming together at Jack's Lake or
Lake Hopatcong. You always came up with good ideas. I really enjoyed
those days when we would go down to the Jersey Shore and swim in the
Atlantic Ocean and then the boardwalk along with what we all ate that
day.
When I called you one day many years ago you asked me if I was hiding.
I did not understand that question at the time so you explained that you
had not seen me in such a long time. So I explained to you that after my
education my career promotions came rapid fire and I had eventually was
transferred to San Francisco. You were so proud of me then.
Well Chi Chi you take a long and eternal rest from all your work: you
deserve it. I mentioned you in my prayers this morning.

Condolences to all of Mary's family and friends. "Chi Chi",as we knew her in high school, and I became friends when we both worked after school at NJ Bell phone co. I, too, grew up in West Orange. Though from very different backgrounds, we connected Immediately on a strong spiritual level. I am sorry that I lost contact after moving to Florida many years ago, but the memory of her strong devotion to God and her loving family will be remembered with great affection. She overcame "impossible" odds and led an exemplary life, something quite remarkable in this day and age.

Mama Chi Chi is what I called her and in return she said I remind her of her son...my reply to her was always "I'm to dark to be your son" she would always laugh "What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget" Love you Mama Chi Chi even thou I'm not ready to say good-bye I'll rather say I'll see you later...

Dear Loved Ones of Chichi (Mary),
I knew Chichi from church (Full Gospel Church) and also later our working together at Unimet Metal Supply. I loved her as a sister. She was a great prayer warrior and friend. We who have the level of faith that she had know that she is happy, whole and safe now with her Savior Jesus. I am including this beautiful song in case it is a comfort to any who are grieving her loss, as she will be dearly missed by us.
