Dorothy McGrory Ludgate, 90, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Mrs. Ludgate was a resident of Franciscan Oaks in Denville, NJ, formerly of Caldwell, NJ and Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
Dorothy was born in Newark, NJ and raised in East Orange, NJ. She was a member of the East Orange High School Class of 1944 for which she enthusiastically chaired numerous class reunions.
Mrs. Ludgate earned a bachelors and masters degree in mathematics from Montclair State College and worked for AT&T in New York City before retiring to raise her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2012. She is survived by her 5 children: John (Jr.) of Morristown, NJ, Peter of Gaithersburg, MD, Clare of London, England, Paul of Petaluma, CA and Susan Young of Charlotte, NC: 4 grandsons: and a brother, Bob McGrory of Middletown, NJ.
The funeral mass was private at St. Aloysius Church in Caldwell, NJ. Arrangements were in care of the Codey & Jones Funeral Home of Caldwell, NJ.
