Mary (Mollie) Devine Margitan, 98, of Lake Mohawk, NJ, gently passed away at home on Friday, May 26, 2017. Born in Franklin, NJ to John C. and Mary (Berrigan) Devine. Mollie lived in East Greenbush, NY, Jupiter, FL, Essex Fells and Caldwell, NJ before moving to Lake Mohawk, Sparta, NJ in 2011. Mollie graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Paterson, NJ in 1940. She had a long career as a Registered Nurse at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY and Jupiter Hospital in Jupiter, FL. She was most recently a member of the Sparta Seniors. She enjoyed games including, Bingo and Bridge. She thrived in the company of her friends. She was predeceased by her husband, John V. Margitan and her sons, Peter and William Margitan. Surviving are her daughters, Patricia MacKay and Susan M. Lewis; a son, Daniel J. Margitan; a sister, Joan Stevens; brothers, Robert and Joseph Devine; grandchildren, Paige MacKay, Joseph and Jared Lewis, Kim Marie Glick and Sarah Laboy; also 7 great grandchildren. Mollie cherished her family and exalted their many achievements. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church, 294 Sparta Avenue, Sparta, NJ 07871 on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:30am followed by a luncheon (including Mary's favorite, ice cream!) A private interment will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, NJ. Arrangements in care of the Codey & Jones Funeral Home of Caldwell.
