Devoted to her family Faithful Catholic Judith E. Courter gently passed into the arms of the Blessed Mother on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Please join the family at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006 on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 am for a Mass of Christian Burial. The burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Caldwell. Judith was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Jack and Elaine Cunningham, she was one of three daughters. In Oklahoma she met and married a NJ boy, Donald Courter, who was an officer in the US Air Force stationed at Tinker Air Force Base. Afterwards they raised their family of 3 in NJ, where they lived in Wayne and Gillette. After Donald's death in 2002 she moved to Vestal, NY to live with her daughter, Patty before moving back to West Orange, NJ two years ago. Mrs. Courter was a devout Catholic and was a Tertiary of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate. Surviving are her devoted children and their spouses, Donald and Bernadette Courter, Patricia and Daniel Sweeney, Michael and Melissa Courter; loving sisters, Deanna Walton and Patti Emord; cherished grandchildren, Donald and Kyle Courter, Bridget, Joseph, Erin and Daniel Sweeney, Theresa, Jacinta, Cecilia and John Courter. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Parkinson Association, NJ Chapter / RWJ, PO Box 910 New Brunswick, NJ 08903 (apdpaparkinson.org) would be appreciated.
