Obituary of Robert Paul Miller

Robert Paul Miller Beloved Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, & Friend Fly Fishing Enthusiast Robert Paul Miller, 48, of Basking Ridge, NJ, went to heaven to go fishing on August 29, 2017 due to a brain aneurism last month. On this day he joined his father and best friend, Robert C. Miller who passed away in July of 2016. Perhaps the best way to remember Bob would be to go fishing and spend some time together at the farm. Services in celebration of Bob's life will begin at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006 with visitation on Thursday, August 31st from 4-8 pm. A Service of the Witness of Resurrection will be held in the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell, 326 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ will be on Friday September 1st at 10:30 am. (Moritz) Miller, Robert was raised in Roseland, NJ. He graduated from West Essex Regional High School in 1988 where he was a member of the award winning Marching Band. He attended Radford University in Virginia and returned to NJ where he worked in the restaurant business for many years. Bob worked in several restaurants including the Bernards Inn and Ecco Qui, both in Bernardsville, NJ. It was in the 1994 at the Bernards Inn that he met the love of his life, Judy Vacula. Eventually they married in November 2001 and had the reception at the Bernard's Inn. Together they have enjoyed a life full of family, friends and their canine kids, Baxter and Bailey. Whether spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee, on a stream, river or ocean fishing or at the Vacula Family Farm in PA, Bob enjoyed every moment with his loved ones. He especially loved cooking and entertaining, he was the consummate host. For the past eight years he has worked diligently at restoring the farmhouse in PA, which was his greatest achievement in life. Surviving are his beloved wife, Judy C. Vacula-Miller; devoted mother, Barbara Miller; loving sister, Michelle M. Hall, her husband, Michael and nephew's, Ryan & Tim; dear uncles, Raymond Moritz and Richard Miller; dearest aunt Patricia Tescione and her husband, Anthony; two cousins, Laurie and Pam; his best canine companion, Bailey; his extended family and friends both on the water and at the farm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory to the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Morristown Medical Center, 100 Madison Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960 would be deeply appreciated.
