Obituary of Rose Capozzoli

Rose Livolsi Capozzoli, 89 of Belleair, Florida, formerly of West Caldwell, entered into eternal life at her home on September 7, 2017 surrounded by her beloved family. Rose was born on April 9, 1928 and was one of five children of the late Michael and Mary Livolsi of Caldwell. She attended St. Aloysius Catholic School and Grover Cleveland High School in Caldwell. Rose worked as a bank teller for National Newark and Essex Bank in Caldwell for many years. She was an active member of Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church in North Caldwell for many decades as well as a member of the Rosary Society, a Eucharistic Minister and she also volunteered in the prison ministry counseling through Caldwell Presbyterian Church in Caldwell. Rose worked in the Notre Dame Church's rectory accounting collections with her fellow parishioners. Rose and her husband John of 68 years were married at St Aloysius Church in Caldwell in 1949 and was co-owner / proprietor of West Essex Sunoco and West Essex Gulf, both in Caldwell. Rose was predeceased by her two brothers Father Sylvester Livolsi of Branchville, NJ and Sebastian Livolsi of Caldwell. Rose is survived by her devoted husband, John A. Capozzoli of Belleair, Florida and her two children, Thomas Livolsi Capozzoli and his wife Michele of Belleair, Florida and Maria Handley and her husband Charles of College Grove, Tennessee. Rose is survived by her two sisters, Sister Carmel Livolsi, OP of Caldwell and Concetta Rizzio of Arizona. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Christopher Handley and Michael Handley, two great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews along with beloved friends Mary Alice Basile and her husband Victor of Long Beach Island, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, September 22nd from 5-8pm at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, September 23rd at 10:00 AM at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church in North Caldwell.
