Imelda McAdam Reilly Murphy, 89 of Caldwell passed away on November 3, 2017.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame Church, 359 Central Ave. North Caldwell on Wednesday November 8 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell (973-226-6696).

Born in County Monaghan, Ireland on June 6, 1928, Imelda was the eldest of 11 daughters born to Charles and Margaret McAdam. She immigrated to Brooklyn, NY aboard the Queen Mary II in 1952, at 22 years old. She worked as a nurse's aid in the area for many years. At the age of 70, she proudly accomplished her lifelong dream of obtaining American citizenship.

Imelda was the beloved wife of the late James Reilly who passed in 1959; and to Warren Murphy who passed in 1973. She was the loving mom to Erin Wacha and her husband Dr. Abert, Kathleen Zieser and her husband Joseph, Ret. Newark PD, Moira DeCarolis and her husband Louis, and Michael Murphy and his wife Sophia. She was the cherished grandmother of Chris, Lauren, Timmy, Caitlyn and Danny Wacha, Ryan and Danielle DeCarolis, Meaghan Zieser and Christina Murphy. Adored great grandchildren, Charlie, Caroline, Thomas and Louis.  Loving sisters, Marian Brady, Ethna McDonald, Carmel O'Sullivan, Kathleen Brown, Nuala McAdam, Dympna McAdam and Claire McAdam.

The family would like to thank Dr. Patrick DiPaola and his staff for their kind and compassionate care; and her devoted companion Teta for her loving care.
