Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

 

Carmela Ruth, of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, 2017, only after her whole family was home for the holiday.

 

Visiting will be held at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006 today Wednesday, December 27th from 3-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell on Thursday, December 28th at 9:00 am. The interment will be follow at All Faiths Cemetery in Queens, NY. Born in Brooklyn to Cono and Rose Cantelmi, Carmela was one of five children. She lived in Greenpoint Brooklyn for 79 years before moving to West Caldwell in 2005.

 

She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene; brothers, Frank and Salvatore Cantelmi; sisters, Concetta Petekiewicz and Marie Willett.

 

Surviving are her devoted son and his wife Gary and Christine Ruth; loving grandchildren and their spouses, Johanna and Brian Mullaney, Jeffrey and Gina Patania; cherished great grandson, Colton James; dear sister-in-law, Mary Cantelmi; brother & sister-in-law, Fred and Janice Wainwright; also many nieces and nephews.

 

Donations in Carmela's memory to St. John's Soup Kitchen, 871 McCarter Hwy., Newark, NJ 07102 would be deeply appreciated.
