Guiseppe "Joe" Lentine
Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Avid Bowler of Caldwell
Joe Lentine, of Caldwell, NJ, peacefully passed away on January 2, 2018 at home with his loving family by his side.
Born in Newark, NJ to Anthony and Filomena Lentine. He met and married his sweetheart, Anna (nee Josso), they grew up on the same street. Together they moved to Stanhope, NJ and eventually made Caldwell, NJ their home along with their 2 sons.
Joe worked as a custodian for the Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education, as well as a crossing guard for many years. He loved playing bocce ball and watching the New York Yankees. He was a member of the Caldwell Old Guard for several years. Joe was an avid bowler and is in the Essex County Bowling Hall of Fame. His greatest accomplishment, however, were his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, whom he adored.
Joe is survived by sister, Connie Covitz; sons,Anthony (and wife MaryBeth) and Neil (and wife Christine); grandchildren Nicole Carangelo (and husband Vinny), Joseph Lentine (and fiancé Lyndsey Rall), Lauren Petersen (and husband Ryan), Stephanie Lentine, Alicia Lentine, and Michael Lentine; and great-grand children Vincent Carangelo IV and Emma Jean Petersen. He was predeceased by wife, Anna, and his brother, Anthony.
Services will be held in the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ beginning with visitation on Friday, January 5th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and a service on Saturday, January 6th at 11:00 am.
