Obituary of Richard F. Berk

Richard F. Berk Devoted Husband, Father & Grandfather Richard "Dick" Berk, of Manahawkin, NJ, formerly of Caldwell, NJ, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. He was 73 years old. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave., Caldwell, NJ 07006 (973-226-6696) on Fri., March 14th from 4 – 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Ave., Caldwell on Sat., March 15th at 11:00 am. Dick was born in Jersey City, NJ and graduated from Immaculate Conception H.S., Montclair, NJ received a BS from St. Peter's College, Jersey City and an MBA from Seton Hall, S. Orange. He married his beloved wife of 46 years, Debbie, and together they raised a family of five children in Caldwell. Dick and Debbie moved to Manahawkin in 2005. Mr. Berk was an executive who worked for Bell Labs, Bell Core, the United Nations in Asia and for Troy Corp. in Thailand, retiring in 2003. He was past president of the following organizations; Caldwell Board of Health, St. Aloysius Parish Council, The Morris Essex Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, and co-founder of the Caldwell / West Caldwell Junior Chiefs. Surviving are his beloved wife, Debbie (Sauer); devoted children, John and his partner Eric Panepinto, Rick, Ellen and her husband, Michael Kloepper, Michael and his wife, Maureen, Katie and her husband, Josh Walters; dear brother Edward; cherished grandchildren Caroline and Jack Berk, Emma and Matthew Berk, Alex, Jacob and Sam Kloepper and Sierra Walters.
