Obituary of Jean Lillian Dillon

Jean Lillian Dillon Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother Jean Lillian Dillon, 89, a longtime resident of Orange, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Relatives and friends will visit at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006 (973-226-6696) on Sunday, January 28th from 2-6 pm. A Liturgy for the Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 518 Valley Street, Orange, NJ 07050 on Monday, January 29th at 10:00 am. She lived in the family home on Forest Street for 86 years before moving to Toms River 3 years ago. Jean was a school secretary at the Forest Street Elementary School for 24 years. She enjoyed working at the school and was loved by the staff and students for her dedication and hard work. She especially liked her commute each day which consisted of walking across the street. She was predeceased by her husband, John "Larry" Dillon in 200l; a son, Gregory "Pickles" Dillon; grandchildren, Larry Salerno and Dori-Lynn Dillon. Surviving are her devoted children, Laure Salerno (Gregory), Kevin (Debbie), Douglas and Linda; loving brother, Michael Costa (Fran); cherished grandchildren, Gregory Jr., Patrick, John (Natalie), Brian (Melissa), Gregory Jr. (Kim), Courtney and Peter, Kevin, Jr., Brittany(fiancé Peter Fresco) , Katelyn, and Douglas William; adored great grandchildren, Nicky, Roman and Brian, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions to Our Lady of the Valley Church, Soup Kitchen would be deeply appreciated She lived her life with complete devotion to her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
