Hannah E. Swan, age 74, of Parsippany, NJ died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at St. Barnabas Medical Center of Livingston, NJ. Born in Orange, NJ to the late George P. and the late Betty J. (Chapman) Turner, Hannah was one of three daughters. She lived most of her life in West Orange where she raised her son and daughter. Hannah graduated from Orange High School. As a single mother, Hannah began her career at U.S. and Overseas Insurance Company in Irvington, NJ where she worked many years and went to school at night to become an underwriter. She then worked for Great American Insurance Company. She retired from Tango Insurance, Linden, NJ . Hannah loved reading, gardening, Jeopardy, and New York Times crossword puzzles. She also volunteered at the Book Nook at Parsippany Senior Center. She is survived by her devoted children, Michael Swan and his wife Valerie of Ledgewood, NJ and Cynthia Swan-Pinto and her husband Paul; loving sisters, Kathleen Wickman and Elizabeth Turner, South Carolina; cherished granddaughters, Katie & Jessica Pinto. Memorial visiting will be Sunday, March 4 from 2 - 4 PM at Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ followed by a memorial service at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
