Lifelong Resident of the Caldwells

 

Herbert Edward Boeckel, Jr., 87, of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet at Notre Dame R.C. Church, 359 Central Avenue, North Caldwell, NJ on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 10:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Born in Glen Ridge, NJ to Herbert E., Sr. and Vera (Bregg) Boeckel, Herb was a lifelong resident of the Caldwells.

Herb was a graduate of St. Benedict's in Newark and Catholic University in Washington DC. After graduating from college Mr. Boeckel proudly served in the US Navy as a part of the Admiral Staff of the Supreme Allied Command during peacetime.

He was a licensed architect who worked as a construction manager for Terminal Construction in Wood-Ridge, NJ and retired from the State of New Jersey. He was involved with the construction of the Claridge II in Verona and High Point State Park.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 53 years, Norma Jane (Reilly); devoted sons, Mark and his wife, Jill, and Scott; and a brother, Paul and his wife Carol; a step-grandson, Mat; and many nieces and nephews.
