Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother
Emma Cedrone, of Crane’s Mill in West Caldwell, NJ, peacefully passed away on Saturday evening, November 3, 2018. She lived a remarkable 90 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, November 6th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 7th at 11:30 am in St. Brendan’s RC Church, 154 E. 1st Street, Clifton, NJ 07011. Born in Paterson, NJ to Joseph and Grace Cascone, Emma was raised in Paterson. She attended Montclair State Teachers College, where she met Daniel, her soon to be husband, and graduated in 1951 from Paterson State Teachers College (now William Paterson University).
In addition to raising two sons she was an elementary school teacher at the Gantner Avenue Elementary School in Elmwood Park for nearly 40 years.
She was a member of the New Jersey Education Association, National Education Association, the William Paterson University Pioneer Society and a former member of the Crane’s Mill Residents Board. Emma spent her summers with her family in Lavallette playing many games of Scrabble on the beachfront in addition to travelling the world with her husband Daniel.
Emma was predeceased by her husband, Daniel in 1991 and her sister, Anna Gennaro in 2010.
Surviving are her devoted sons, David and his wife Patricia and Thomas and his wife Dawn; loving grandchildren, David, Michael and his wife Cassandra, Timothy and his wife Kerry, Patricia and her husband Ricky, Dana and her husband Timothy, Nicholas, and his wife Katelyn, and Douglas and his wife Audra, and cherished great grandchildren: Brielle, Carter, Max, Cole, Marin, Emma, and Logan.
