Leroy John Whiteman "Roy", 89, of Fairfield, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.
Services will be held in the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave., Caldwell, NJ on Saturday, March 30th at Noon. Relatives and friends are invited to visit one hour before the service. Born in Waterbury, CT to Arthur and Mary (Trought) Whiteman, Roy lived in Kearny and Glen Ridge before moving to Fairfield to raise his family.
Roy proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was a tool and die maker for many years with New Departure Hyatt Roller Bearings in Clark, NJ.
Roy enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and gardening in his backyard.
He was predeceased by his wife, Emily (Perry) and sons, John and George.
Surviving are his devoted son, Kenneth and his wife, Anne Bishop; daughter-in-law, Susan (Pontus); loving sister, Norma (Richard) Chestnut; cherished grandchildren, John, Jr, Katie and David (Mfoniso), USMC; adored great grandson, David "Junior"; also nieces, nephews and cousins.
