Obituary of Colleen T. Blasi

Beloved West Orange activist; worked in real estate and was
active with veterans and the West Orange Elks Lodge
 

Colleen Blasi, 63, of West Orange, N.J., passed away peacefully Sept. 7, 2019.
Born in Orange, N.J., Colleen was a lifelong resident of West Orange, N.J.
Mrs. Blasi was a real estate agent for Berkshire Hathaway for 15 years. She was the current secretary for the West Orange Elks Lodge No. 1590. Those who knew her, recognized her as someone who always got everything done.
Colleen was also the chairman of the Elks Lodge Drug Awareness Program which worked closely with the West Orange Police. She was also hugely involved with the veterans. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend; she will be solely missed by all who knew her.
Colleen is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Richard; her son, Richard Gruchacz; grandchild, Carol-An Ramirez; her brother, Ken Rosen, and stepfather, Ken Rosen.
She was predeceased by her mother, Maureen Rosen; her son, Michael Ryan; her sisters, Kathy Shauger and Patrice Rosen, and her brother, Michael Wilk.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Our Lady of Lourdes, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., West Orange, N.J., followed by a burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sept. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Codey and Jones Funeral Home of Caldwell, 54 Roseland Ave., Caldwell, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make donations in Colleen's name to Elks Veteran Fund, 424 Main St., West Orange, N.J.
