Obituary of Patricia Ann Brown

Patricia Ann Brown, 79, of West Caldwell, NJ, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, with her loving family by her side. All are invited to celebrate her life beginning with visiting at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ (973-226-6696) on Friday, November 29th from 3-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ on Saturday, November 30th at Noon. The interment will be private. Pat moved to Verona, NJ with her family and attended Our Lady of the Lake School and graduated from Lacordaire Academy in Upper Montclair. She married the love of her life, Jim, and settled in West Caldwell, where she raised her seven children. Pat, as she was lovingly called by all who knew her, was a homemaker, newspaper columnist for the Caldwell Progress and children's book buyer for Book World in West Caldwell. She was also a longtime member of St. Aloysius R.C. Church, where she was on the Parish Council, the Junior Woman's Club, Bridge Group and Gourmet Club. Pat's smile, her laugh and her love of family made her special to many… She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James "Jim" in 2015. Surviving are her devoted children, James, Jr. (Diane), Barbara Pippitt (Michael), Elizabeth, Mary Pat Pszcola (Michael), Kelly Joy (Darren), Kathleen Frey (Kevin) and Robert (John Joseph); grandchildren, whom she adored, Joseph, Erika & Lindsay Brown, Kyle & Dylan Pippitt, Matthew & Meredith Pszcola, Brooke Joy and Ryan Frey; loving sisters, Toni Brower, Judy McVicar (Ed), and Linda McKnight (Brian) and loving brother, Peter Thomas (Marilou), also many cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends, especially, Peg and Ed Hoff. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Essex First Aid Squad would be greatly appreciated.
