Born in Brooklyn, NY to Arthur and Marie Meehan, Carol lived in San Francisco and Maryland, before settling down in West Caldwell, NJ and later retiring to Palm Coast, FL. She returned to NJ a few years after her beloved husband, Donald passed away and has resided in Caldwell since 2004.
Carol was a graduate of Mount St. Dominic Academy and Katharine Gibbs. She was a secretary at several companies in the area, retiring from R.K.O. in West Caldwell, NJ.
Carol was a proud member of the Junior Women's Club, and Bridge Group. She was a true master and a competitive player but loved to teach others to play. Carol's love of cooking and willingness to try new recipes was a passion for her. "Why go out when you can host a lovely party at home?", she used to say. A dear friend, a beloved sister to her three brothers and a fun-loving Mom who always made room for one more at the dinner table.
Carol was predeceased by her loving daughter, Mary Ward and son-in-law, Michael McCoy. Surviving are her devoted children, Patricia (John) Vandigriff, Kathleen McCoy, and Michael Rauschenberger; loving brothers, Arthur (Jeanne), Daniel (Claire), and Dennis (Bridget) Meehan; son-in-law, Gary Ward; six cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Eric, Kayla, Kyle, Kristen and Shaun; and one adored great grandchild, Aidyn with another on the way! Also, many nieces, nephews, and close friends, especially the "Bridge Girls".
Join the family as they celebrate her life with a Memorial Mass on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 10:30 am in St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ.
