Obituary of Paul Anthony Desiderio, Sr.
Paul A. Desiderio, Sr. of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 31, 2021, surrounded by his loving children. He was 69 years old.
He was born and raised in Glen Ridge, NJ to Retta (Caruso) Desiderio and the late Frank J. Desiderio. He graduated from Morristown Prep in Whippany, NJ and Northwood University in Midland, MI.
Early in his career, he worked at Derio Oldsmobile as VP of Sales, was an active member of the Caldwell/West Essex Kiwanis Club and was President of Essex County Automotive Trade Association. Being a talented craftsman, he moved on to being a master carpenter with various organizations until his diagnosis in July of 2020.
He had a passion for helping others, had a huge heart and put everyone else first. He would always lend an ear to whomever needed it and was empathetic in nature.
He is survived by his children, Dina Desiderio Maloney (Tom) of Bel Air, MD and Paul A. Desiderio, Jr. (Heather) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and his grandchildren Dillon and Rain Maloney and Bradley and Landon Desiderio. He is also survived by his mother, Retta Desiderio of Livingston, NJ, his brother, Edward P. Desiderio of Robbinsville, NJ and his sister, Dori Desiderio Karpinski (Ed) of Galloway, NJ, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Please join the family as they celebrate Paul's life with a memorial visitation on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 5-8 pm at Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, New Jersey 07006. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, New Jersey 07706.
