Obituary of Anne Patrice Longendyck

Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anne Patrice (Haveron) Longendyck, 69, of West Caldwell, NJ passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

Anne was born in Newark, NJ to Joseph and Nancy (Steele) Haveron and graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel. She went on to attend Katharine Gibbs School. For over 50 years, she was a legal administrative assistant to Stephen J. Edelstein.

In 1974 Anne married her beloved Gerard; the two would celebrate 50 years of marriage this year. Their children and grandchildren were the light of her life.

When Anne was diagnosed with cancer in 2021, she refused to let it stop her from living the life she wanted. She continued working, grabbing meals with friends, and making the occasional casino trip with Gerry to play the slots.

Anne was best known for her magnetic personality. Anyone fortunate enough to spend time with her would describe her as warm and generous. Friends and family could always count on a card, text or call from Anne for special occasions (whether it be a birthday or St. Patrick’s Day).

Anne is survived by her beloved husband, Gerard Longendyck; her cherished children, Devin and his wife, Sara; and Norah and her husband, Brian Callahan; her adored grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne and Aidan Joseph; and many family and friends.

Visiting with the family will be Monday, April 1st, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Codey Funeral Home of Caldwell. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 2, at 10:00am in Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, North Caldwell.
