Words can´t describe how thankful I am that Father Ryan was in my life. From the first time we met in 1997 when I was new to living in Fort Lee as teenager, he always treated me with kindness and respect, willing to help a young, unconfident kid find her way in life. He taught me not just how to be an emboldened student, but how to be a good person. Every time we saw each other, he had a giant smile and always asked how my family and I were doing first, before any life talk. He influenced so many people in Fort Lee, and I hope he and his family know how loved he was. Thank you so much for everything, and we will continue to keep it moving for you down here .

Fr. Ryan was a dedicated man of God. He was a good Shephard to those in need. He held me as I cried over the passing of my sisters stillborn baby. He offered to do a private memorial mass for our family and a few friends in the chapel. The people of God and their needs came before his own. I was blessed to work under his guidance and stewardship. May he rest in the presence of his Lord, his Shepherd for all time.

I just want to thank Father Ryan for making me a better person and being a good pastor. He was so genuine. He was such a nice man that did everything that was right. He suffered no fools. He made all of our Madonna parishioners better for it.

Fr. Ryan was the rare person who could simultaneously belly laugh, eat a salami sandwich and offer advice that would be transformational. Wisdom - Faith - and Salami - he was the real deal.
As our Valley Pastor, he's probably the most unselfish person I've ever met - unless it came to the last pieces of dessert.
He was my Pragmatic Priest - the guy who kept me thinking about faith during my 20's, who shared my disdain for foolish political posturing, and connected me to folks who helped me get my first mortgage. He loved people, and he loved connecting his people.
He ran a busy parish and a school yet always had time for joshing, a check-in, and laughter. He epitomized "living in the moment."
He warned me he wasn't good at keeping in touch, and I'm so sad that he's right. His was a voice I thought I'd hear again. Godspeed, my Friend. Thank you for everything.

Fr. Ryan married me and baptized two of my sons. A true example of a good Priest. We had warm and memorable dinners at the Galvin Home. He once came with me to Boys Town, NE when I performed there. He touched the lives and hearts of many.
Rest in Christ,
