Hi, I was searching to verify Martha's address to send her an invite to a Tribute we're holding in honor my parents Chloe and Jim Cargille and discovered this obituary. Please accept my condolences on the passing of your mother.
My father passed away at the end of August and my mother passed in January of 2011.
Elsa, if you think you'd like to attend the Tribute we're holding at the end of November, email me at the provided address and I'll give you more details. I'd love to see you!

Dear Anna and Elsa,
I am sorry that I missed Martha's memorial service on Saturday.I was feeling under the weather and decided not to make the trip.
Even though Martha and I had not stayed in touch, She definitely has a special place in my heart. I do remember the years that we were close; The times that I spent at her church in East Orange; and the times that you girls and your mom and dad spent with Benjaminand me.
One thing I am certain of is that life is difficult and we must makegood memories to look back on. I have this with Martha.I hope you both are doing well.please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
With love, Linda

I could speak of how I feel I've lost my mom all over again - but I won't. Instead, I'll speak of Martha's sparkling eyes that shone with laughter and the toss of her head over her shoulder with an "Oh Diane!" at the silly things I said as a child...the unfiltered opinions I felt safe to express as a teen. Her patience as we piled cushions and blankets around the living room to make a 'fort' from the pull-out couch...the requests for over-nights met always with a 'I suppose so'. I'll speak of the piles of ribbon, string, cut out shapes, flowers, buttons and craft things piled on the dining room table from Martha's many creative endeavors - always impressive and made with such care and love. I'll speak of how rain or shine..I was welcome at the back door. I'll speak of church, and God and all her words of faith and guidance. More than my Second Mom...who laughingly called me "Dee-Di-Do-Dum" in a sing-song voice. Martha was loving, strong and generous. Forever in my heart.

Dear Elsa and family
We wish we could be there for the service in person, but we will be there in thought.
We are sending you love and sympathy. You are a special person who was very good to your parents.
Take care, your mother is at peace and her pain is gone. I am sure your dad and brother met her with loving arms. Love, Pattie and Jim
